An Introduction to Life Coaching

You are your deepest driving desire.

As is your wish, so is your will,

As is your will, so is your work,

As is your work, so is your destiny.

-Maitrayani Upanishad

Wishes can become your destiny.

To make changes in your life, you must first recognize that something must change. This understanding can come after experiencing difficulties in one, or more commonly, more areas of your life. These may include:

Self esteem and confidence

Relations

Career

Work-life balance

Health

Breeding

Stress

Bad habits (smoking, heavy drinking)

Exercise and nutrition

Debt and finance

Weightloss

Anxiety, depression, and panic attacks.

However, it is important to recognize that although many of these factors impact our life situation, they are really just symptoms. It is our fundamental beliefs that shape our life experience; those things that we believe and think about ourselves, others and the world in general.

Exploring your core beliefs begins to increase your self-awareness and acts as a catalyst for change.

What is life coaching?

Life coaching is a very positive and effective practice that helps people make meaningful and meaningful changes (that is, they will last) in their lives.

Although it is important to accept and acknowledge your past, it has indeed brought you to the point where you are now, life coaching deals with the present moment and shapes your future, rather than focusing on your past.

The role of a life coach is to help you assess your life situation as it is now, look at what you want to achieve in your life, and then help you decide how you can best achieve it.

A life coach guides, motivates, assures, encourages and encourages, but never tells you what to do. Through active listening, good communication, questioning, interpretation, and evaluation, a coach will assist you and suggest tools and techniques to lead you toward your stated results. However, you set the pace and ultimately make the changes and achieve your desired goals.

Why is life coaching different from therapy?

Life coaching is often confused with therapy.

As stated earlier, life coaching deals with now and positively advances shaping your future. Therapy often focuses on past events and the processing through them.

Coaching is based on an equitable partnership in which the client and the coach work together to achieve the agreed results.

Therapy takes the form of a patient / therapist relationship that generally follows a specific therapy model.

If you are unsure, coaches usually always offer an initial consultation (often free of charge) so that you can discuss your current situation and whether the training is right for you. Obviously, this also gives you the opportunity to talk to the coach and decide if he is the right coach for you.

What are the benefits of life coaching?

Life coaching increases your self-awareness and connects you with your true self, which is your highest good. Although people often experience overwhelming feelings during coaching, which is a natural part of the change process, looking at yourself and your life in a more objective way allows you to see clearly what you would like to work on and achieve.

Coaching is an exploration of oneself and often reveals new interests, passions and different paths to follow.

A positive change in one area of your life will have a natural impact on other areas of your life. By addressing your core beliefs, it is possible to effect changes in many areas of your life simultaneously.

New ways of being extend beyond yourself and impact your family, friends, and those with whom you come in contact.

Coaching encourages you to remove limits and limitations that you may have imposed. This can make you more creative, proactive, and motivated to succeed.

Ultimately, coaching is about restoring your natural balance and helping you live a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life.

How long does the coaching last?

There are no strict rules regarding the duration of the coaching. Most coaches will offer individual training sessions that can be as effective for some people as a training program. However, it is more common to reserve a minimum training schedule and add more, or even take less as needed.

Coaching sessions typically last between 60 and 90 minutes and are held once a week.

Studies have shown that it takes 21 days to form a habit or a new way of being. With this in mind, and in my experience, a coaching program of six weekly sessions of one hour is enough to make a significant change and move you towards your achievement.
